A Practice Built Around How Thai Businesses Actually Think and Decide
Siam Nexus was established to offer a particular kind of outside perspective — structured, candid, and suited to the pace and culture of Thai commercial life.
← Return HomeFourteen Years in Thai and Regional Markets
Siam Nexus began as a small advisory practice in 2011, founded by consultants who had spent most of the preceding decade working inside Thai companies and observing how strategy was — and was not — made in practice. The founding premise was simple: most outside consulting felt mismatched to how Thai leadership teams actually operated, in terms of pace, language, relationship norms, and decision-making culture.
The practice has since worked with a range of Thai SMEs and mid-market firms, as well as regional businesses entering the Thai market. Engagements have spanned sectors including manufacturing, professional services, retail, distribution, and technology. What they share is a leadership team at a moment of genuine consequence — a planning cycle, a market shift, an ownership question, or a period of recalibration.
Over time, the practice refined three engagement types that reflect where outside input tends to be most useful: a short diagnostic review for teams facing a specific decision, a more intensive planning collaboration for firms entering a new period, and an ongoing advisory relationship for founders and directors who benefit from a consistent outside counterpart.
The work is conducted quietly. Client relationships are not disclosed. The practice does not market itself through case studies or named references, preferring instead that clients form their view through direct conversation.
What We Are Here to Do
Clarity Before Action
We aim to slow down the moment before a consequential decision — not to delay it, but to ensure it is made with a clearer picture of what is actually in front of the organisation.
Honest Counterpart
The role we aim to play is that of a thoughtful counterpart, not a vendor of frameworks. That means being willing to say what we observe, even when it is not what the client might prefer to hear.
Contextual Relevance
Thai commercial life has its own rhythms and norms. The framing we bring is rooted in that reality, not imported from business school templates designed for different markets.
Who Conducts the Work
Engagements are led by senior advisors with direct experience in Thai markets. The practice does not use junior consultants as primary client contacts.
Kasem Suwannarat
Seventeen years in Thai corporate strategy, with senior roles across manufacturing and professional services before founding Siam Nexus.
Nattaya Phromchai
Specialises in market landscape analysis and competitive positioning for Thai mid-market firms considering regional expansion.
James Thornton
Brings cross-border perspective to engagements involving regional strategy, with a background in Southeast Asian financial services.
How We Work
Each engagement is governed by a consistent set of professional standards that apply regardless of scope or duration.
Strict Confidentiality
All engagement contents are confidential. Client identities are not disclosed. Non-disclosure is confirmed in writing at the outset of every engagement.
Written Agreements
Scope, fees, and working arrangements are agreed in writing before any engagement begins. There are no oral-only commitments on either side.
Senior-Led Throughout
The advisor who proposes the engagement is the same person who leads it. Work is not delegated to junior staff without the client's knowledge and agreement.
Responsive Correspondence
We aim to respond to all client enquiries within one working day and to substantive questions within two, during the active period of an engagement.
Conflict Disclosure
Any potential conflict of interest — including prior or concurrent relationships with relevant counterparts — is disclosed before an engagement is accepted.
PDPA Compliance
All personal data handled in the course of an engagement is managed in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA B.E. 2562).
Strategic Consulting Grounded in Thai Market Knowledge
Siam Nexus works with founders, managing directors, and senior leadership teams across Bangkok and Thailand's regional commercial centres. The practice specialises in market orientation analysis, collaborative strategic planning, and ongoing executive advisory — each structured to deliver a clear written output alongside the working process.
What distinguishes the practice is its grounding in Thai commercial norms. Engagements are conducted in English or Thai, or a practical combination of both. The working method is iterative rather than prescriptive — findings and drafts are shared with the client for review throughout, not presented as finished conclusions at the end.
The client base consists primarily of established Thai SMEs with annual revenues above 50 million THB, mid-market firms navigating ownership or leadership transitions, and regional businesses entering or consolidating their position in Thailand. The practice does not work with early-stage ventures, nor does it provide implementation, operational, or recruitment services.
